FIIO worked with Knowles to develop a custom balanced armature (BA) driver specifically tuned for bass. By optimizing the airflow in this driver, they significantly improve the overall energy output. The FA19 features four of these custom-built drivers in each channel, ensuring that it delivers rich, powerful bass with remarkable detail.

Each channel of the FA19 features four custom bass-enhanced BA drivers created through FIIO's partnership with Knowles, resulting in plenty of bass. The engineering team used advanced DLP 3D printing technology to create an enclosure that channels low-frequency energy to the rear cavity of the earphones, effectively lowering the resonant frequency - and functioning as a negative feedback bass amplification system. This innovative approach enables the FA19 to generate deep, impactful bass, a quality often rare in in-ear monitors (IEMs) in this category.

The smoothness of the mid-frequency range is the result of both high-quality core drivers and precise tuning performed by professional acousticians. The FA19 includes two classic Knowles ED mid BA drivers, known for their high resolution and preferred by discerning listeners. However, if not managed properly, these drivers can sometimes produce hiss sounds that detract from the overall listening experience. To address this, engineers implemented a specially designed notch filter for the mid-frequency range, strategically positioned at the output of these mid BA drivers.

Every musical note comes alive with exceptional clarity, thanks to the FA19's precise crossover design. It uses audiophile film capacitors as crossover components, which are known for their excellent precision. Unlike typical resistors, which have an error tolerance of about 1%, the resistors used in the FA19 have an impressive error tolerance of just 0.1%. As a result, the FA19 achieves not only more accurate crossover points, but also improved high-frequency resolution while maintaining tonal richness.
