After the introduction of the DM13, FIIO listened carefully to user feedback and used those insights to further refine every detail. The result, one year later, is the brand new FIIO DM15 R2R: a portable CD player that is entirely the product of FIIO's own R&D and in-depth expertise in CD audio technology. It is a product that combines classic charm with modern innovation.

The DM15 R2R is designed to be a true powerhouse in the portable CD player segment. Despite its compact size, it houses five essential core modules: a precise CD servo, a high-quality USB DAC function, an R2R module, a Bluetooth module, and a central MCU that intelligently controls everything. This integrated architecture not only provides rich functionality, but also impressive performance, with single-ended output power increased by 66% to 310mW+310mW and balanced output power increased by as much as 74% to 1150mW+1150mW. This clearly sets the DM15 R2R apart from other portable CD players.

To bring back the characteristic analog sound of classic portable CD players, the DM15 R2R is equipped with its own fully differential 24-bit R2R DAC architecture with four channels. This DAC consists of 192 carefully selected thin-film resistors with an accuracy of 0.1% and very low temperature drift. The result is a sound that feels warm, organic, and layered, with a musicality reminiscent of the golden age of portable CD audio, but refined with contemporary precision.

What makes the DM15 R2R special is the way it combines classic listening experience with modern capabilities. It functions as a full-fledged HiFi USB sound card and supports high resolutions up to 384kHz/32bit and DSD256, with the R2R DAC retaining its distinctive musical character even in USB mode. Thanks to the Qualcomm QCC3095 Bluetooth chip, it supports multiple Bluetooth codecs, including aptX, aptX Adaptive, and aptX HD, and can transmit both CD audio and USB audio wirelessly. A new visual interface makes pairing Bluetooth devices clear and intuitive.

In addition, the DM15 R2R offers extensive sound tuning with multiple bass modes and built-in EQ presets, which can be combined to create a wide range of dynamic sound profiles. A specially tuned RETRO preset gives music an extra rich, analog, and nostalgic sound. Another unique feature is the ability to rip tracks directly while listening and save them in WAV format to external storage, allowing you to easily archive and share your favorite CDs.
