The full speed potential of the new FRITZ!Box 4690 with innovative Wi-Fi 7 comes out best when combined with a fiber optic modem. With this type of modem, the FRITZ!Box distributes the fiber optic speed of up to 10 Gbit/s at lightning speed via a 10 Gbit/s-WAN port, a 10 Gbit/s LAN port and three 2.5 Gbit/s LAN ports in the home network. When used as a wireless dual-band router, the FRITZ!Box 4690 reaches speeds of up to 6.9 Gbit/s. Via the wireless standard DECT ULE, versatile smarthome applications such as, for example, for heat and energy efficiency are possible.
The FRITZ!Box 4690 takes home network speed to a whole new level, effortlessly enabling demanding and data-intensive applications such as gaming, cloud computing or parellel streaming. With powerful Mesh Wi-Fi conforming to Wi-Fi 7 and Wi-Fi 6, PBX, VPN, Wi-Fi access for guests, firewall and a USB port to connect storage media or dongles for mobile Internet, and versatile networking capabilities, the FRITZ!Box 4690 is the ideal home networking hub on the fiber modem.
The new Wi-Fi 7 standard offers advantages on the already used 5 GHz frequency band and enables powerful Mesh Wi-Fi. The combination of low latency and high throughput enables powerful wireless communication. And current applications also benefit from faster connections - even at longer distances and for many mobile devices.
An analog telephone and up to six DECT cordless phones (e.g. FRITZ!Fon) can be registered with the integrated telephone system. Five integrated answering machines, local and online directories and a wealth of comfort functions round out the wide range of features. The media server streams movies, music and photos in the home network. In addition, the FRITZ!Box 7690 has further connection capabilities such as a USB 3.0 port, a 10 Gbit LAN port and three 2.5 Gbit LAN ports. This allows network devices such as printers and storage media to be easily integrated into the home network.
