The Navis active loudspeakers are not only distinctive in design and finish, but especially because of the progressive technology. For example, unlike many other brands, Elac does not use digital filtering (DSP) in the signal path, but a purely active analogue crossover. The filter is separated from the rest of the electronic components and is housed horizontally at the bottom of the cast aluminium base of the loudspeaker.

Each speaker has its own amplifier with a total of 300W of power. The bass is provided with a 160W BASH, the midrange with 100W BASH and the high with a 40W Class AB amplifier.

The design, together with high-quality components such as Burr Brown OpAmps, ensures a high signal-to-noise ratio and an extremely low noise floor of less than 100 microvolts.

Housing and Dual-Concentric chassis reinforce each other

The Dual-Concentric chassis, a midrange driver with a recessed tweeter for the high tones, works as a kind of horn that prevents the refractive effect of a speaker front. This horn effect is further enhanced by the curved front with rounded corners. This radiation characteristic ensures a large 'sweet spot': a large listening zone in which several people can optimally enjoy the beautiful sound image.

Connection options

Navis speakers can be connected via a wired connection to a preamplifier, d/a converter, streamer, network player, mixer or other sources with an adjustable volume output. The speakers can also be controlled wirelessly via Elac's Air-X2 Wireless Transmitter or Discovery Connect DS-C101 .

Elac has chosen not to house sources such as Bluetooth and streaming services in the speaker. This is to ensure optimum signal quality and to make the speaker insensitive to outdated and possibly no longer supported third-party software in the future.

Switch wireless “Off” for uncompromising analog input and output. Plenty of possibilities to create a compact audio system.

Floorstander ARF-51

With its beautiful slim appearance, the ARF-51 can never be an obstacle in the living room. The basic properties are identical to the monitor model. Thanks to the two extra woofers, the amplifier can now really show what it has to offer. The power and dynamics of this speaker will amaze you. The bottom is completely provided with a soft foam layer to prevent scratches. To prevent the risk of the speaker tilting, a base plate is included. In combination with the associated spikes/cones, which can be turned into the base plate, a solid base is created that also decouples the speaker well from the floor.

The ARF-51 can be ordered in two high-gloss finishes: white and black. No fronts are included.
