Aperture design

The diaphragm is the heart of the headphones, producing the waves that our brains ultimately perceive as sound. To meet the acoustic goals Meze set for the 109 PRO, they focused their R&D efforts on materials research, looking for the perfect balance of mass and stiffness that would maximize the headphones' sonic capabilities.

The search led to the development of the 109-series Dual-Composite Diaphragm - a combination of beryllium-coated polymer, cellulose - carbon fiber composite and copper-zinc alloy.

In a world of fast-paced technology, Meze is betting on proven fundamentals. Their new 50mm dynamic driver, assembled and tuned with ultimate precision, allowed them to push the boundaries of speed, accuracy and dynamic range.

Acoustic design

Meze wanted the 109 PRO, with its open back, to be lively and exciting, allowing the listener to connect with the music on a deeper level.

Carefully tuned by Meze's in-house engineering team, it offers an emotionally engaging sound with plenty of detail, clarity and just the right amount of punch. Its organic character, combined with superior dynamics, excellent imaging and full vocals bring soulful details to life. Plus, it is easy to drive from most devices, whether portable sources or complicated home setups.
