Dali Alteco C-1 (pair)
In both design and function, the DALI ALTECO C-1 is truly a multi-functional loudspeaker. DALI wanted to make sure that the ALTECO C-1 could be used as a high altitude loudspeaker, but also as a traditional stereo loudspeaker. By designing the crossover for stereo use, and by strictly adhering to DALI sound principles, we created a loudspeaker that meets both conditions. It is the perfect solution for adding height information to a surround setup, or for taking on the role of a discrete stereo speaker.
The ALTECO C-1 delivers credible height information for Atmos, DTS-X and Auro-3D movies in a surround setup - not only when it radiates upward and uses the ceiling as a reflector, but also when it radiates downward from a high position just below the ceiling.
The ALTECO C-1 can do this even without the special filtering used to amplify the effect of HRTF (Head Related Transfer Function) technology, a technology used in ATMOS certified speakers. Instead, the ALTECO C-1 relies solely on the height processing that takes place in the surround amplifier when that mode is selected. Using the non-linear HRTF filtering in the ALTECO C-1 would have made it impossible to use it as a versatile neutral speaker as well, limiting its use to an upward-radiating speaker.
Because of the way it is designed, the DALI ALTECO C-1 offers the best of several worlds, with ultimate flexibility and multiple applicability.
