Audio-Technica ATH-ADX3000

Inspired by the ATH-ADX5000, Audio-Technica’s flagship open-air headphones, the ATH-ADX3000 is designed to introduce the natural sound of open-air technology to a wider audience. The headphones feature integrated 58 mm drivers, combining the diaphragm, voice coil, baffle and magnet into a single unit. This improves airflow and ensures full audio reproduction across the frequency range. This optimized construction prevents unnecessary sound distortion, resulting in full-range audio reproduction with natural bass, clear mid- and high frequencies, and a detailed, realistic soundstage.

However, our expertise in driver technology has strongly influenced the design of our open-back headphones, and we have been able to ensure that the diaphragm moves as cleanly as possible. For the ATH-ADX5000, for example, we developed an innovative technology by integrating the driver into the baffle. This creates an optimal construction, which improves airflow and enables audio reproduction across the entire frequency range. We have also used the same technology in the ATH-ADX3000 headphones.”

A robust connection

Since 2015, Audio-Technica has been using the specially designed A2DC (Audio Designed Detachable Coaxial) connector on all of its in-ear headphones and on a selection of over-ear headphones with detachable cables. Why did it develop this connector and what makes it outperform existing connectors in audio applications?

Open-back sound

The ATH-ADX3000’s open design allows for unrestricted airflow, preventing the sound from being distorted or artificially altered. This results in extremely pure sound with a true sound field and imaging.
