Chord Electronics has updated the Mojo 2 by replacing one of the 3.5mm headphone outputs with a balanced 4.4mm connector and making the USB-C input switchable for charging and data transfer.

The Chord Mojo 2 is the successor to the popular and very well performing portable Chord Mojo DAC headphone amplifier. Where the first generation Mojo was mainly praised for its openness and detailing, the second generation Mojo has been improved on crucial points. The result is a robust, fully CNC aluminum and hand-built DAC headphone amplifier that achieves studio sound quality.

Custom FPGA signal processing

The Mojo 2 is based on a powerful custom FPGA principle and the 2nd generation Mojo benefits from various new developments. The lossless Digital Sound Processing (DSP) developed by Chord Electronics is central to this. This ensures a digitally controlled tone control where absolutely nothing is lost of musicality. Thanks to this UHD DSP, this Mojo 2 is even more suitable for use with the varied range of headphones and portable equipment available today.

More flexibility

The Mojo 2 has been given a USB-C data port in addition to the separate micro-USB charging and data ports for greater flexibility with the use of old and newer sound sources. The coaxial and optical digital inputs have been retained. Thanks to the improved 'noise shaper' with a lower noise floor and a more neutral response, the Mojo 2 even delivers a higher openness than the first generation Mojo. If you use a Chord Poly streamer/server, it can again be connected wirelessly to the Mojo 2.

Sustainable design features

Compared to its predecessor, the controls have been further improved thanks to the addition of a fourth 'sphere' control button. This extra button adds a mute function, crossfeed, key lock and UHD DSP tone control to the controls. In addition, the battery management in the Mojo 2 has been further improved, increasing the battery life by up to 9%, improving efficiency by 75% and charging the battery faster than before. This means even more listening pleasure than before.
