Corina is the first electrostatic headphone to feature the industry-leading Acoustic Metamaterial Tuning System AMTS technology first introduced on the groundbreaking Stealth and Expanse headphones. With AMTS, the frequency response is dramatically smoother in the midrange and high frequencies, free from annoying “peaks and gaps” for a more fluid, complete, accurate and enjoyable listening experience. AMTS allows Dan Clark Audio to re-engineer the Corina’s voicing to deliver the most natural midrange we’ve ever heard in an electrostatic speaker. From the powerful bass to the incredibly rich and well-balanced mids and highs, Corina delivers an incredibly smooth and lifelike experience, full of electrostatic resolution yet free from the high frequency emphasis/glare common to many electrostatic headphones.

New intonation

By de-emphasizing the higher frequencies typical of many electrostatic headphones, VOCE has created a new vision of what electrostatic headphones can sound like. With a wider, deeper soundstage, stronger bottom end, and a smoother, richer midrange, the Corina delivers a fun yet lifelike tone, with lush vocals and bass that really kicks. Unlike many other electrostatics, the Corina is even fun with electronica and rock.

New driver manufacturing process

To ensure the highest consistency between units, the Corina’s 88mm driver is constructed with a new tensioning system that increases diaphragm tension and tension uniformity for more consistent, better matched drivers. These drivers are then carefully tuned to each other to ensure excellent soundstage and imaging.

Matching ear cushions

New ear cushions have been developed with improved ergonomics, including a synthetic suede surface for facial contact, eliminating sweat and the “hot spots” often found in headphones. But ear cushions aren’t just for comfort. As most listeners know, ear cushions can dramatically affect the sound of a headphone.

While drivers can be precisely matched, ear pads that use welded or stitched fabric and foam have always limited the actual tolerances of the headphone. All new and replacement Corina ear pads are supplied as matched pairs to further tighten tolerances between left and right channels and reduce variance between units.

Multiple improvements in comfort

The Corina uses the new self-tensioning headband design from our flagship Stealth and Expanse headphones, for an incredibly comfortable and hassle-free fit. Combined with the new ear cushions and our signature titanium alloy headband design, the Corina is incredibly comfortable to wear.
