Diffuse open design

Inspired by flower petals, the FF5 has a design that is both beautiful and functional. The FiiO development team wanted to reduce unwanted reflections and vibrations within the FF5's housing, which led to the development of a diffuse open design with an acoustic damper that allows some of the air pressure within the earphones to diffuse outward - resulting in fewer unwanted internal reflections and standing waves, resulting in a cleaner sound and improved bass response.

Newly developed dynamic driver with carbon diaphragm

An earbud that eschews the traditions of its form factor, the FF5 features a specially developed large 14.2mm dynamic driver that uses an innovative carbon-based diaphragm. The driver has a PU packing and a carbon-based diaphragm, making it both lightweight and very stiff. This results in sound with fast transients and excellent treble resolution thanks to the driver construction that minimizes nonlinear distortion by reducing unwanted driver movement.

Thanks to its large 14.2mm dynamic driver, the FF5 produces bass unmatched by a smaller driver in both quantity and quality, with a sound that feels just right. Compared to the FF3 with its emphasis on low and mid frequencies, the FF5 offers a faster sound with better separation. Thanks to the carbon diaphragm, the resolution of the mids and highs is also greatly improved for more detailed and nuanced vocals. This is especially noticeable with female vocals - when listening to music with a heavy vocal emphasis, you can hear every detail of the refreshingly lush vocals.

Standard 4-conductor 392 wire total silver-plated monocrystal copper cable

The FF5 comes standard with a silver-plated monocrystal cable. 14 wires are braided into a small strand, and 7 small strands are braided together into a large strand - resulting in 4 large strands with a total of 392 wires. More strands significantly increase the cross-sectional area of the wires in the cable for better transmission speed and stability. The Litz braid reduces the skin effect, which also benefits the transmission speed through better conductivity. Thanks to the above factors and the excellent materials, the FF5 cable, compared to ordinary cables, features significantly improved treble resolution, creating a highly detailed yet nuanced sound.

Cable core processing went through numerous steps. After secondary melting, a single crystal is formed - then special processes to treat impurities are performed to improve wire purity and minimize signal transmission loss in the wire. In addition, silvered monocrystalline copper material can help speed up transmission speed while ensuring signal integrity.
