FIIO has collaborated with Knowles to develop a custom balanced armature (BA) driver specifically tailored for bass. By optimizing the airflow within this driver, they significantly enhance its overall energy output. The FA19 is equipped with four of these custom drivers in each channel, ensuring that it delivers rich, powerful bass with remarkable detail.

Each channel of the FA19 features four custom bass-enhanced BA drivers created through FIIO's partnership with Knowles, resulting in an abundance of bass. The engineering team utilized advanced DLP 3D printing technology to craft a shell that channels low-frequency energy into the earphone’s rear cavity, effectively lowering the resonant frequency—functioning as a negative feedback bass enhancement system. This innovative approach allows the FA19 to generate deep, impactful bass, a quality often rare in in-ear monitors (IEMs) within this category.

The smoothness of the mid-frequency range is a result of both the high-quality core drivers and the meticulous tuning performed by professional acousticians. The FA19 incorporates two classic Knowles ED mid BA drivers, renowned for their high resolution and preferred by discerning listeners. However, if not managed correctly, these drivers can sometimes produce sibilance that detracts from the overall listening experience. To address this, the engineers have implemented a specially designed notch filter for the mid-frequency range, strategically positioned at the output of these mid BA drivers.

Every musical note comes alive with exceptional clarity, thanks to the precise crossover design of the FA19. It employs audiophile-grade film capacitors as its crossover components, which are known for their outstanding precision. In contrast to typical resistors, which have an error tolerance of about 1%, the resistors used in the FA19 boast an impressive error tolerance of just 0.1%. As a result, the FA19 achieves not only more accurate crossover points but also enhanced high-frequency resolution, all while maintaining tonal richness.
