The FRITZ!Box 5590 Fiber Edition International offers the full range of FRITZ!Box functions directly on the fiber optic connection for the AON and GPON connection technologies - a media converter or an upstream modem are not necessary. The FRITZ!Box 5590 Fiber comes with two matching fiber optic modules (FRITZ!SFP AON with LC/APC bus and FRITZ!SFP GPON with LC/APC bus) for point-to-point gigabit fiber optic connections. The new fiber optic flagships distribute speed lightning-fast wirelessly via Wi-Fi 6 (4 × 4) and via a 2.5 gigabit port that can be used as both WAN and LAN connection. Four gigabit LAN and two USB 3.0 ports round out the high-speed equipment.

Works on any connection

Various fiber optic technologies are used in the Netherlands. FRITZ!Box 5590Fiber Edition International provides systems for network access over fiber and is prepared for the most common connection types AON and GPON.

Innovative Wi-Fi 6 for a home network with many Wi-Fi end devices

The Wi-Fi 6 standard takes into account the ever-growing number of Wi-Fi devices. From smartphones, tablets, PCs, 4K TVs and speakers to smarthome applications, more and more devices are being used simultaneously in the Wi-Fi network. By reducing latency, Wi-Fi 6 ensures a fast and stable data stream. FRITZ!Box 5590 Fiber offers a bandwidth of 2400 Mbit/s in the 5 GHz band and 1200 Mbit/s in the 2.4 GHz band for many parallel applications. At these high throughput speeds, Wi-Fi 6 additionally ensures longer battery life for the mobile devices in the home network.

Strong as a hub in the Mesh Wi-Fi network

As a Wi-Fi Mesh Central, the FRITZ!Box 5590 Fiber is prepared for the highest demands in the home network. In the Mesh Wi-Fi network, distributed Wi-Fi points (e.g. FRITZ!Box and multiple FRITZ!Repeaters) are merged into one smart Mesh Wi-Fi network. As Mesh Master, the FRITZ!Box 5590 Fiber is the hub of the FRITZ! Mesh Wi-Fi network and actively controls all other access points so that the Wi-Fi end devices used in the home network are always logged on to the access point with the best connection (Mesh Wi-Fi steering).

Telephony and smarthome options for everyone

The integrated VoIP phone system has two connections for analog phones and a DECT base station for up to six cordless phones (e.g. all FRITZ!Fons). Even IP phones and smartphones become full-fledged phones on the Internet connection via Wi-Fi. With an integrated answering machine, local phone books and online phone books as well as numerous convenience functions, telephony - also for professional applications - leaves nothing to be desired.

The FRITZ!Box also controls smarthome devices via DECT, such as FRITZ!DECT 500, FRITZ!DECT 440 and the smart radiator thermostats FRITZ!DECT 301/302.
