The GO pod is a pair of portable Bluetooth DAC/headphone amplifiers designed to make your premium in-ear monitors (IEMs) wireless.
Given the quality of the GO pod's circuitry, combined with a well-chosen pair of high-performance IEMs, the resulting sound is far superior to any "true wireless" earbuds or Bluetooth headphones.
Using a pair of GO pods is simple. First, you disconnect the cable from your favorite IEMs and connect the earpieces to the left and right pods. Then you pair the pods with your source device (e.g., a smartphone) and hook the ergonomically designed ear loops around your ears for a comfortable fit.... The result is unparalleled TWS (True Wireless Stereo) headphone sound.
Qualcomm's 24-bit aptX HD and aptX Adaptive formats are also covered, with sample rates up to 48kHz and 96kHz respectively, with the added benefit of QHS (Qualcomm High Speed) providing an additional 300kbps of bandwidth. Other supported codecs include aptX Low Latency, regular aptX, AAC and SBC.
This means that every possible source device is processed at the highest audio resolution allowed by the Bluetooth specification.
IEM manufacturers use a variety of connector types, but whichever one is used by your favorite brand iFi has it covered. The removable ear loop of the GO pod contains the IEM connector, and these are interchangeable - iFi has made ear loops for MMCX and 0.78mm 2-pin... (more will follow).
True wireless earbuds rely on the System on a Chip (SoC) solution to integrate the necessary technology into a small space. Crucial stages such as Bluetooth decoding, digital-to-analog conversion and amplification are all merged together to save space and cost. This comes at the expense of sound quality.
The GO pod is distinctly different. Each crucial stage is individually designed and optimized to ensure excellent sound quality - Bluetooth, DAC and amplification.
Like high-end hi-fi speakers, wired IEMs are designed for sonic excellence, combining multiple hi-tech drive units to send sound directly into your ear canal.
Considering the high level of audio engineering in both, connecting a pair of these IEMs to the GO pod results in sound that is sooo much better than regular truly wireless earbuds.
The GO pod comes with a cleverly designed charging box, with softly padded internal compartments and ample space for both the connected IEMs and the pods themselves. A 1500 mAH rechargeable battery is built into the charging box.
A pair of GO pods can play for up to seven hours on a single charge, while the charging box can be charged multiple times to allow up to 35 hours of play time. The charging box supports both Qi wireless charging and USB-C fast charging.
