The Netgear ProSafe GS105E Ethernet switch is suitable for both home and small business applications. The five gigabit connections allow you to quickly transport large files within your network. In addition, you can connect this switch to easily expand the number of network ports. Connect the Netgear GS105E to your router and you instantly have four more connections.
Smart switch
Netgear also calls this model a "Smart switch" given the extensive features the GS105E has to offer. The network connections are auto-sensing so the Netgear ProSafe GS105E automatically detects what type of network cable you are using. This switch also features VLAN support basic QoS features bandwidth management options auto DoS prevention and loop detection.
Sound and housing
Because the Netgear ProSafe GS105E has no built-in fan, it operates completely silently. The compact design with metal casing ensures that the switch can be easily stored and can take a beating.
Sustainable and energy efficient
Also, the Netgear ProSafe GS105E switch is energy efficient thanks to Green Ethernet technology: LAN ports that are not in use will not consume power. And when a short network cable is connected, the switch will reduce power to consume less power. The switch thus consumes up to 60% less power than switches that do not have these features.
