MASSIVE 0.5% SILVERED GUIDERS: Solid conductors prevent mutual interference between wires in twisted pair cables and reduce jitter. Solid silver-plated conductors are perfect for high-frequency applications. Those signals, because they have such a high frequency, transport themselves almost exclusively over the surface of the conductor. Because this surface is made of a very pure grade of silver, the performance is almost equal to that of a solid silver conductor, but is much closer to solid copper cables in terms of pricing. This is an incredibly cost-effective way to produce high-quality Subwoofer cables.

DISPLAYED-POLYETHYLENE ISOLATION: Any solid material adjacent to a conductor is basically part of a non-perfect circuit. The insulation of cables and the materials from which circuit boards are made absorb energy (loss). Some of this energy is stored and then released as distortion. Black Lab uses air-foamed polyethylene for the insulation of both conductors because air absorbs almost no energy and polyethylene gives little loss and has a harmless deformation profile. Thanks to the air in foamed-PE, it causes far fewer out-of-focus effects than other materials.

METAL-LOW NOISE-DISSIPATION SYSTEM (NDS): 100% shielding is easy. Preventing captured RF disturbances from modulating equipment ground potential requires AQ's Noise-Dissipation System. Noise-Dissipation System prevents much of the captured RFI from reaching equipment grounding.

SYMMETRIC COAX GEOMETRY: Identical conductors for + and - prevent the need to use the shielding as an inferior audio conductor.

COLD WELDEDRCA PLUGS: This plug design allows a connection without solder, a common source of distortion. Because the plugs are not machined but pressed, a low-distortion metal can be chosen without regard to machinability.

grounding: Sometimes a hum problem can occur unless the subwoofer and the AV receiver (or a surround processor) are connected together with a separate wire. If your system has a hum problem, you can connect the spades of the ground wire to the metal chassis of the subwoofer amplifier and the chassis of the source component. But usually this extra wire is not necessary.
