The 2nd generation LIRIC turns a page with a new chapter within Meze Audio. Every aspect of this closed-back planar has been reviewed, along with feedback from the commnity, to determine the exact areas of improvement. The newly discovered potential in sound enhances its essence, while introducing a richer sound and more refined tuning.

At first glance, the distinctive Macassar ebony on the ear cups immediately gives you a sense of warmth, but of course this is only a small glimpse of what has changed in these headphones. The distinctive nature of Macassar ebony means that each pair is unique in its essence. This characteristic ensures that your headphones are not just a tool for experiencing music, but a personal statement-piece with its own story and character.

QWRM

The Quarter Wavelength Resonator Mask is a precision-crafted metal component that strategically covers selected openings in the driver frame to effectively attenuate high-frequency peaks above 7 kHz for a less fatiguing listening experience.

Phase-X

Created exclusively for Meze Audio, the MZ4 driver has already been successfully implemented in the first generation LIRIC. More than 30 years of R&D have gone into developing this technology, resulting in one of the lightest and most advanced planar magnetic drivers on the market.

An innovation on the MZ4 driver developed in-house by Rinaro is the Phase-X™ system, which improves ambience and spatial sound imaging, which often proves to be a problem in closed-back headphone designs. With the addition of the Phase-X™ system, LIRIC achieves a more linear phase response and faster transient response decay. This provides more faithful reproduction of transient sounds and improves the ambience and spatial image for the listener, bringing them closer to the original source recording.

Pressure Equalization System

To enable optimal pressure in the ear-cup chamber and better airflow control, our finely tuned pressure equalization system is present on the LIRIC. It has also been upgraded to achieve a smoother transition from the bass frequency range to the low midrange.

Cables

The high-quality hand-braided copper cable now serves as the standard cable for LIRIC. Meze Audio has focused their efforts on enhancing the listening experience by offering a premium 4.4mm cable suitable for most portable headphone amps, as well as a soft 3-meter TPE cable with a 3.5mm jack, ideal for home headphone setups.

LIRIC features state-of-the-art technology developed by Rinaro, redesigned for everyday use. The MZ4 Isodynamic Hybrid Array driver has been purposefully downsized and tuned to provide a similar audio experience to its larger counterparts in the Empyrean II and Elite.

Combined with the enclosed design, it helps preserve the original clarity and emotion of your favorite music through enhanced sound and minimized external noise. Each driver is fully assembled and tested by hand at Rinaro's industrial plant in Ukraine.
