As an iteration of the M11 Plus series, the M23 not only carries on the classic hexagonal honeycomb design and 18:9 golden ratio of FIIO, but also sees significant upgrades in configuration, performance, and user experience. The goal is to create a mid-to-high-end portable Android HiFi player that combines both excellent performance and listening experience.

Like the Q15 and K9 AKM, the M23 uses the flagship AKM DAC combo: the AK4191EQ+AK4499EX. It is a new design that completely separates the digital and analog sections and also features the “DWA ROUTING Technology” to further improve the signal to noise ratio. These technologies provide a clearer audio background and higher resolution audio, resulting in a relaxing yet natural sound.

The M23 is the first FIIO portable player to feature dual Type-C ports, one of which is exclusively for accepting power (POWER IN). When this dedicated Type-C power port is connected for fast charging, the Super High Gain mode can be activated for higher gain and higher output power. In this mode, the output power can reach up to 1000mW+1000mW per channel, making the M23 more suitable for high-impedance headphones. In this mode, the other Type-C port consumes no power, making it suitable for connecting the M23 to a phone for use as a USB DAC.

In addition, the M23 also adopts FIIO's latest patented technology: Desktop Mode (D.MODE), with a switch dedicated to switching. When D.MODE is activated, the M23 is fully powered by an external power source. The built-in battery is not charged or discharged, which ensures that the M23 can be used as a desktop device without fear of damaging the battery.

FIIO, as one of the audio manufacturers with the first and most widely adopted THX amplifier design, has long mastered and polished the THX headphone amplifier architecture. The THX AAA 78 headphone amplifiers used in the M11 Plus and M11 Pro are widely praised by audiophiles worldwide. After several years of refining the design, FIIO introduces the THX AAA 78+ amplifier architecture in the M23. It enables greater output power with high fidelity, resulting in powerful sound reproduced with extreme accuracy.

The M23 uses a dual-mode fast charging system that utilizes extreme fast charging + regular fast charging. At lower battery levels, extreme fast charging is used to safely enable charging speeds of up to 30W. When the battery is near full charge, the M23 switches to a slightly slower regular fast charging mode, enabling significantly improved charge times while still maintaining battery health.

The specially selected low-resistance fast-charging batteries, which use high-temperature resistant materials, are combined with technologies such as low-resistance MOS protection plate to ensure long-lasting batteries.
