Onix Beta XI2

Following the very popular ONIX Alpha XI1, the new Beta XI2 is designed around the same top-of-the-line Cirrus Logic CS43198 DACs. Using a pair of DACs for fully balanced output, this model offers an outstanding detailed and energetic sound that set the XI1 apart from its competitors.

Enhanced headphone amplifier

A significant change comes with the amplifier in the Beta XI2, which now incorporates a more advanced audio architecture with dual OPA 1662 and quad BUF634A. While overall output power has not changed much from the Alpha XI1, the new amplifier designs offer impressive improvements in clarity and control, making the XI2 an even better match for high-end earphones and full-size headphones.

Additional tube output

Thanks to a partnership with Shanling Audio, drawing on their extensive knowledge of tube design and following the adoption of tube outputs in the portable market, Onix brings this special sound enhancement to the Beta XI2.

A pair of durable and low-heat JAN 6418 tubes is integrated into the Beta XI2's audio circuitry, securely fixed inside the unit, with just two small windows offering a glimpse of the tube glow. A new setting has been added to the DAC's system that allows quick switching between the Beta XI2's audio outputs, allowing tube mode to be switched on or off almost instantly, depending on mood or music.

Classic from ONIX

The Beta XI2 follows the high standards set by ONIX, including highly durable aluminum construction with signature ONIX design elements, a 0.87-inch screen that provides direct access to settings directly on the DAC, a trio of hardware buttons for convenient control of volume and playback, and the gold-colored ONIX OL1 USB cable made of silver-plated copper.
