The design, around a chassis of anti-magnetic aluminum, is completely new and designed by Design Narratives Ltd. The front panel with dark wood texture and the addition of a status LED and power button, provides a completely new aesthetic change from the first version of the Primo.
For those who have an audio system and want to complement it with a high-level DAC-Streamer, the Volumio Primo is an excellent choice. The DAC used in the Primo is the uncompromising SABRE ESS 9038Q2M, which helps ensure that no detail is missed. The latest Amlogic Quadcore CPU running at 1.9GHz and 2GB of RAM form the brain of the Primo on which the Volumio OS runs effortlessly. It features analog audio outputs in both balanced and single-ended formats, a digital SPDIF coaxial output, an HDMI port for an external monitor and two USB ports.
With the Primo, stream from your favorite music services such as Spotify, Tidal, Tidal Connect and Qobuz. Use your Volumio plug-ins to connect to many additional services and features such as Youtube, Soundcloud, Tune-in, Radio Paradise and more. If you own local or network discs, the Primo can also play them all thanks to Volumio OS.
