Amplifiers with an integrated MM phono stage rarely have the quality to get the most out of your vinyl. Sometimes you can switch the phono input from Moving Magnet to Moving Coil, but that's where it ends in most cases. With this Primare R15 you can adjust the characteristic of the RIAA stage entirely to the specifics of the mounted element.
The R15 has an adjustable load and gain so that even a low output MC cartridge delivers optimum sound quality and input signal. Also with MM cartridges you can adjust the preamp in such a way that a dull sounding cartridge gets more liveliness and an over-detailed cartridge can be tempered a little. Finally, the R15 has a subsonic filter that limits the cone excursion of your speakers if the vinyl is not 100% flat.
