The SOtM sMS-200 Neo and the sMS-200ultra Neo are highly functional network players that support both Roon, Music Player Deamon, DLNA and Squeezelite. This makes SOtM's network players work with virtually any NAS or media server. In addition, the sMS-200 and sMS-200ultra network players can also be configured as a powerful MPD music server.
The SOtM sMS-200 is based on a mainboard designed specifically for audio. It is equipped with a fast ARM dual-core processor and has a working memory of 2GB.
The SOtM sMS-200ultra is the bigger brother of the sMS-200. Like the sMS-200, the ultra is equipped with an audio-specific mainboard, a fast ARM dual-core processor and 2GB of working memory. In addition, the sMS-200ultra is equipped with a sCLK-EX2425 high-performance audio precision clock with which the ultra achieves even lower jitter values.
The sMS-200 and the sMS-200ultra are so-called streaming bridges, which means they should be combined with an external USB DAC. Both network players have an RJ45 network connection, a slot for an SD card, two USB ports for a USB storage device and a separate USB audio output for the external DAC.
To get the maximum sound quality from these network players, you can combine the SOtM sMS-200 and the sMS-200ultra with a high-quality power supply from Sbooster. The result of a Sbooster power supply upgrade is in a word amazing. It takes the imaging properties of both SOtM streamers to an even higher level.
The sMS-200ultra Neo is a new version of the original sMS-200ultra and changes the musical nuances of the original sMS-200ultra. It has a deeper mid-range and better bass expressions compared to the original sMS-200ultra. And the original sMS-200ultra presents more dynamics and sharper sound compared to sMS-200ultra Neo. So with such changes, the overall balance of sMS-200ultra Neo becomes richer and brings musical inspiration.
