ELAC Uni-Fi 2.0 UB52 (pair)

Meet the ELAC UB52 3-way bass reflex loudspeaker from ELAC's Uni-Fi 2.0 loudspeaker line. These Hi-Fi loudspeakers are based on the first generation of ELAC Uni-Fi loudspeakers, again from the hand of the acclaimed Andrew Jones and have been further improved in crucial aspects. This bookshelf speaker is suitable for use in smaller rooms and are ideal for use as rear speakers in a surround configuration.

Innovations

The most profound improvement is found in the all-new concentric mid-high driver, with the tweeter coming from the higher-end Adante series. This tweeter has a better top-end response, while the midrange driver delivers a better response of the lower midrange frequencies giving these speakers more "body" than the first Uni-Fi generation.

Better layer reproduction

In addition to the concentric mid-high driver, ELAC has implemented new woofers with a featherweight aluminum cone and a larger more linear frequency response. These bass drivers deliver a significantly better response and allow even better control through the use of a more powerful neodymium magnet and a lighter voice coil construction. The cabinet of the UB52 is slimmer and above all stiffer. This prevents unwanted cabinet resonances and coloration. The reflex ports are placed in the front of the loudspeaker so that the speakers can be placed closer to the rear wall.

More innovations

To maximize the maximum performance of these new drivers, ELAC has designed a new crossover with crossover frequencies at 200Hz and 2kHz. These speakers deliver a frequency response from 46Hz to 35kHz and have and sensitivity of 85dB. Thanks to this improved filter the different drivers are even better matched to each other, the frequency response is flatter and the impedance is a very nice 6 Ohms so that these speakers are optimally matched with virtually any Hi-Fi and surround amplifier.
