ZEN CAN Studio is an extremely powerful and high-performance headphone amplifier for musicians who rely on headphones for mixing, monitoring or mastering and accept no compromises.
Housed in a compact housing, the ZEN CAN Studio is perfect for use in the studio, live space, on stage or at home.
You can also connect it to a pair of active monitors via the balanced 4.4mm output to use it as a desktop monitor controller. Combine with the matching ZEN One Studio D/A to create a complete interface/controller.
Getting the most out of your headphones simply isn’t possible with laptop output. ZEN CAN Studio has 52x the output, giving you everything you’ve been missing and letting you listen to your recordings without running out of power.
It's designed to work with virtually any headphone, with four steps of +6dB gain adjustment for the perfect match.
The ZEN CAN mono selection function allows you to switch between L, R or L&R to both headphones.
The ZEN CAN Studio uses a custom-made top-quality OV Op-amp to deliver extremely low distortion and low noise from its balanced Class A circuit, which is derived from the iFi Studio headphone amplifier, the iCAN. It outputs a massive 15.1V into 300 ohms.
Sealth mode voltage conversion circuitry, with heavy LC filtering, separates the audio circuits from the internal power supply. A large capacity power reservoir provides drive for transient music signals.
Both the balanced inputs, for example from a D/A, and the unbalanced inputs can be used, offering maximum connection flexibility, whether you are working in the studio, live or on the road.
Internal noise is kept to a minimum by keeping the MCU (microcontroller unit) and LEDs in 'sleep mode' unless action is taken. All internal circuitry is FET based to provide full audio transparency while handling very high peak signals and keeping noise levels and distortion ultra low (0.0001%).
The ZEN CAN Studio is equally at home on stage, in a live space or in the control room. Use it to monitor musicians in a live space, for example each member of an orchestra or band, for a much higher quality than usual during recording sessions.
Take it on the road and use it on stage as a monitoring amplifier with your personal IEMs – it's ideal for use by keyboardists, drummers and static musicians.
Monitor your recordings during mixing and mastering using headphones and the high-quality amplifiers in the ZEN CAN Studio and be sure that what you hear is what you want.
The ZEN CAN Studio forms one half of a powerful duo when paired with the ZEN One Studio. This ultra-high-quality standalone D/A converter connects to the ZEN CAN Studio using either a 4.4mm balanced, XLR or TRS cable to create a fully-functioning interface and monitor controller.
Add a pair of active near-field monitors to the ZEN CAN Studio’s balanced output and the volume pot becomes the monitor controller. Switch between inputs on the ZEN One Studio and this duo proves itself to be a customizable and expandable interface.
