Most audio components have a circular toroidal transformer at their core. These transformers are great, but they have one major drawback. Any incoming DC voltage, which can range from 1,000 mV to several hundred millivolts, creates an annoying 'mechanical hum'. Just when you are listening to the quietest tracks, your ears pick up an annoying low hum coming from your audio component. Place the DC Blocker+ at the IEC input of your audio component to prevent DC current from entering your component and causing 'hum'. Install one on the incoming mains voltage of each audio component to ensure a quiet, 'hum'-free listening experience.
