Powered USB devices

These minimal differences can cause ground loops. Unlike a continuous light hum in analogue circuits, a ground loop in digital connections such as USB mainly causes an increase in noise and a decrease in both the resolution and the dynamics in the music reproduction. USB powered devices

If you use a USB DAC in combination with your laptop or PC that is powered by the USB port, you will not be bothered by ground loops.
