The new MM7055 is the five-channel option in the extensive series of power amplifiers we are offering this year. This component is based on the technology of the MM8003 and has exactly the same chassis. This allows it to provide each channel with a splashing 140 W rms at 8 ohms. Its current feedback technology with ultra-wide bandwidth handles the highest SACD frequencies with ease, making it immediately ideal for the HD formats DTS Master Audio and Dolby TrueHD as well. The result: complete precision in sound and image balance, speed and dynamics. On top of that comes XLR audio inputs, DC triggers and a Marantz bus system for remote on/off switching. Finally, we have added a new display that perfectly matches the design of the AV7005. This is truly breathtaking power and convenience.
Current Feedback amplification is a well-known circuit technology from Marantz itself. Current Feedback amplifier technology fits perfectly with the high demands of Super Audio software, which delivers high-speed playback over a wide bandwidth. The impedance at the Current Feedback point is limited, providing very low phase shift. Marantz receivers and amplifiers with Current Feedback can minimize phase compensation via negative feedback (NFB), resulting in high throughput, excellent jump characteristics and exceptionally transparent sound across the entire bandwidth. Unlike conventional gain with voltage feedback, gain with current feedback makes the power amplifier insensitive to heavy loudspeaker loads.
A DC trigger is an assignable output voltage that can be used, for example, to automatically control an electric projection screen so that the screen goes down when the DVD input is selected on the receiver.
The IR Flasher input is a standardized connection for controlling AV systems with an external IR receiver, regardless of the infrared remote control format used. To the IR Flasher OUT you can connect an IR transmitter to control components of other brands. The third connection is the IR receiver INPUT. This is similar to the IR Flasher IN, but outputs a voltage suitable for external IR receiver eyes. For more information on the capabilities of each product, see the specifications.
Marantz's proprietary technology to design power supplies capable of converting every detail of an audio signal to the best sound quality.
An electrical component may look great on paper, but when combined with other components, the result does not always meet expectations. Marantz selects appropriate components for the specific design application. In some cases, it is simply not possible to use standard components that meet Marantz's strict standards. These components are then made specifically for Marantz in close cooperation with our engineers.
